I'm a New Orleans based guitarist who wants to add a little music and positivity to your life. Lessons with me will not only focus on learning technique but will emphasize the importance of having fun when making music, wether by yourself or with others. Have a Great Day! 😁
What you'll do

Chord Voicings

We will explore and learn different chord voicings, expanding your knowledge of extended harmony, inversions, all chord qualities including major, minor, altered and diminished chords.

Rhythm And Feel

I will teach you my approach to playing with good time and rhythm. This will include learning various feels in the Jazz genre and Beyond. These feels include, Swing, Bossa Nova, Folk, Rock, New Orleans Rhythms and more! Additionally, we will learn various strumming, picking, and finger picking patterns.

Playing The Song

We will explore the various ways to shape the song while accompanying the singer/lead melody. This will include discussing how to switch the feel within a song to create motion, intros and outros, vamps and more!

Harmony

You will learn how chords work together in songs, common chord progressions and patterns, chord substitutions and more.

Who you are
You should have a basic understanding of first position chords and bar chords as well as the ability to play functional rhythm guitar with pick or by hand.
What to bring
Please bring your guitar, notebook and pen or pencil. A PDF will be provided monthly of a playing example from one of my popular online videos that will include a chord chart, chord diagrams and hot tips and tricks.

I think he had turned down his own laptop to get rid of the delay the rest of us heard when we asked questions. If he could continue to do that it would be very helpful when we attempt to speak.

I'm loving this class it's exactly what I was looking for. I'm having so many "aha" moments where things that always seemed random and confusing are resolving into a logical form that I can put into play right away. Love it!

I only attended the first class. Would like to join again sometime when my situation change as I really enjoy it. It was easy to follow and an hour well spend. Much more than just a chord sheet.

Angle the fretboard in the screen so we can see more clearly where his fingers are would be helpful. And if possible can we watch him 0n a split screen image so as he is playing the example with the chart we can also see what he's doing.
