I've released several albums of original jazz tunes, as well as heart-on-my-sleeve singer-songwriter records. My studio session work often bridges these two musical worlds as well (Norah Jones, Tracy Chapman, Lizz Wright, Meshell Ndegeocello, Anaïs Mitchell). Many of my students are schooled jazz players looking to develop skills better suited for supporting a songwriter. I also have students who are rootsy songwriters seeking to refine their technique and expand their chordal palette.
